Meet the special guests of SEI Torino Forum



Diego Piacentini is the Italian Government Commissioner for the Digital Agenda, working pro-bono and helping with the digital transformation of the Public Administration.

Diego is currently on a leave of absence from, where he has worked for 16 years in Seattle as Senior Vice President of the International Consumer Business.

He joined Apple Computer Italy in 1987 and was promoted to the post of General Manager and Vice President for Apple Europe, in Paris, in 1997. Before joining Apple Computer, he held a financial management position at Fiat Impresit in Italy. Diego is on the Board of the Maasai Association, supporting education and health initiatives in Kenya and an investor in Unitus Seed Fund, a seed-stage venture investment fund based in Bangalore and Seattle that invests in startups innovating for the masses in India. Diego serves as member of the Advisory Board and is a prominent mentor of Endeavor Global. He holds a degree in Economics from Bocconi University of Milan and was awarded “Bocconiano dell’anno” in 2010.

He is a regular commentator on the tech business, appearing on the BBC, Sky News, and Channel 4, among others.

He founded the The Europas Conference; Awards, the charity Techfugees and has been an advisor on startups to the British Prime Minister and the Mayor of London. He was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list 2016 for his services to the UK technology industry and journalism.
