#SEIWEtalk: Face to face with Pioneer students | Episode 1

We interviewed three students from SEI Pioneer, the 12-month experience dedicated to a selection of the students of Alta Scuola Politecnica, Collegio Einaudi and SEIplus.

Daniele Gusmini, Giuseppe Pastore and Andrea Della Libera chatted with us and we must admit that we were curious to learn more about their ambitions, to know what they would like to do in their future and to try to put ourselves in their shoes, in order to understand what it feels like to be a Pioneer!

Today it’s Daniele’s turn, and here’s what he told us.

Why did you decide to join the SEI Pioneer?

D: I have always been interested in the world of business and in particular in the hi-tech sector. I saw  SEI Pioneer as an opportunity to go deeper into this sector.

Do you see yourself as a future entrepreneur? If so, why?

D: My life’s goal is to be an entrepreneur, because I would like to convert my time into added value for society, into something I could hardly achieve as an employee.

What do you want to do “when you grow up”?

D: I would like to start my own startup with my friends/colleagues and then, if the startup will be successful, to reinvest in new projects.

Describe SEI Pioneer with a sentence

D: Build your future

Tell us about the project you have developed during SEI Pioneer

D: Together with the team we have developed a home fitness device. A small object that allows the user to be monitored while exercising at home, giving him/her suggestions on how to perform the exercises, correcting mistakes or teaching new ones.

How has SEI Pioneer helped you grow and  improve? Tell us more about your experience

D: In my opinion, I grew up in different ways, and there are two aspects that influenced me the most: the ability to work as a team in a productive and efficient way and the modus operandi, to tackle a project from 0 to 1. Not only the technical side as I have always been used to, but also everything around it.

In your opinion, what are the qualities that cannot be missing in an entrepreneur?

D: I believe the first ability is to be able to adapt to every condition and situation. To this must be added a bit of spirit of adventure, given the risky and uncertain nature of the entrepreneurial path.

Would you recommend SEI Pioneer to other students? Why?

D: Yes, I would absolutely recommend it. Besides, quite often in Italy a young person does not even consider the opportunity to become an entrepreneur among the alternatives, considering the entrepreneurs’ world linked to more mature people. SEI Pioneer opens up this possibility for youngsters too!
