In June, the SEI Pioneers received four mission in highly challenging areas: Augmented Intelligence, Future Mobility, Bioengineering and Automation & Robotics. The aim of the student from Alta Scuola Politecnica was to create a functioning prototype with technologies inherent to these areas and working by November 16th .. And they made it!
Bin Bot is a smart bin, made by the Automation & Robotics team, which uses sensors and a camera to identify the waste introduced; the rotating compartment and the software inside the robot do the rest and manage separately the collected scrap!
Lorry is the result of the Future Mobility team, an autonomous droid for parcel delivery, with autonomous driving and a modular chassis!
The team dedicated to Augmented Intelligence has presented an application that, through machine learning, allows to understand the documents and record the most relevant information, a prototype developed together with the software house Mondora and that could have an impact in the legal, health, logistic areas and much other!
Finally, Wiseair: a plant, created by the Bioengineering team, that has shown us how a plant can produce energy which aliments sensors for measuring pollution in cities in a capillary way!
The Pioneers coming from the Alta Scuola Politecnica presented their prototype to SEI partners: Unicredit, Club Degli Investitori, Camera di Commercio, Industria, Artigianato e Agricoltura di Torino, Gruppo Giovani Imprenditori – Unione Industriale Torino, Mondora, Politecnico of Turin and University of Turin; and a selected audience composed by companies, professors, university researchers, journalists and alumni of SEI Plus.
But they did not stop here: on November 17th began the second phase of the program, which consists in creating their personal business idea, through the same prototype or a completely new concepts.
