Podcasts for Young Innovators #3: The Vergecast by The Verge

With the quarantine slowly being released bit by bit, SEI is still here providing you with content to keep you busy, entertained, and informed. This week our podcast recommendation is The Vergecast. A podcast that will suit all your technological needs!

Background to The Vergecast

The Vergecast is the flagship podcast of the American technology website The Verge. Hosted by Nilay Patel, Dieter Bohn, and Paul Miller with appearances from the rest of The Verge’s diverse and wide-ranging staff, The Vergecast is the only show you need to make sense of the week in tech news. Published weekly, it gives an irreverent and informative look at what’s happening right now (and next) in the world of technology and gadgets. This podcast will not only keep you well informed but also make your sides split with laughter thanks to the fantastic rapport between the hosts.

World-renowned guests from the Technology Sector

Previously the podcast only appeared once a week on Fridays but now Nilay Patel is hosting a second weekly episode on Tuesdays where he interviews major figures and a cavalcade of luminaries from the tech world. Recent guests have been Microsoft president and chief legal officer Brad Smith, Sonos CEO Patrick Spence, Ford Autonomous Vehicles President and CEO Sherif Marakby, and Public Knowledge senior counsel Meredith Rose. Anyone interested about the world of technology can benefit from these in-depth interviews which explain the routes to success as well as the pitfalls to avoid.

This podcast is ideal for anyone:

  • who considers themselves a tech nerd and wants to go into much more nuance and detail about the tech world in comparison to mainstream media
  • who is starting to become interested in the complex world of technology: the Vergecast does an excellent job of bridging the gap
  • who wants to be entertained with jokes, crazy anecdotes and off-the-rails conversations about tech and gadgets
