SEI was born in 2018 to unlock entrepreneurial potential of young talents. These are the milestones of our journey so far:
With the support of Fondazione Agnelli, SEI – School of Entrepreneurship & Innovation is founded in Turin. The mission is to help students acquire useful skills to start new entrepreneurial activities.
The first annual forum of SEI gathers speakers of the caliber of Xavier Niel, Peter Thiel, Reid Hoffman and over 100 of the most promising European startuppers to discuss the future of the European entrepreneurial ecosystem.
In its first year of life, SEI carries out 3 programs – two editions of Inventor and one Explorer – involving more than 130 undergraduate and graduate students from all over Italy. They originate 16 new business ideas.
SEI coordinates the first edition of Italian Tech Week, the tech conference that aims to bring together ideas, experiences and stories from the international technology scene. Guest speaker at OGR in Turin is Daniel Ek, founder of Spotify. The final result marks 8,000 participants and 55 events in 23 locations.
In 2019, SEI carries out a total of 5 programs, involving 212 high school and university students from all over Italy. They give life to 31 new business ideas.
The second edition of ITW is canceled due to the pandemic, and replaced by Italian Tech Speak, a 17-episode technology podcast featuring guests such as John Elkann, Max Pezzali, Davide Dattoli and Luca Ferrari counting over 3.5 million streams.
ToTeM, the spirit guide for Turin startups and the local innovation system, is born. It is a web portal promoted and supported by Torino Finanza and Camera di Commercio di Torino, with the collaboration of Club degli Investitori and SEI, sponsored by UniCredit. Designed primarily for young people, it is developed by SEI and SEIplus, the alumni association of SEI.
The third year of SEI ends with 3 programs: one digital Inventor, one in physical presence, and Pioneer in hybrid presence. For the three programs, a total of 612 applications were collected and 126 students were selected.
SEI’s results as a school of entrepreneurship counts 13 programs delivered, over 500 students trained and 65 business projects originated. Supported by positive feedbacks and encouraging results, we increase our targets: a new journey is about to begin.
Scouting the brightest minds to build disruptive ventures
SEI shifts its focus from entrepreneurial education to business creation: Vento is born, a nonprofit venture builder that aims to scout the brightest minds to build disruptive new businesses.
